Special Projects
.................................................................................
Here you will find some of the things the National Wild Horse Horse Association
has been doing to help save the North American Wild Horse. Such projects include
rescuing stranded horses, building shelters, monitoring springs
and water tanks, emergency feeding, training, adoptions and fund raising. These are just to name a few.

This 20 year old mare was rescued from Goodsprings, Nevada in early June. She
had rolled and became cast under a water truck where she was stranded until rescued by
the NWHA. The mare was taken to Desert Pines Equine were she was treated
for a possible fractured pelvis. The Bureau of Land Management agreed to pay
for her medical expenses and as of June 23, 2005 those expenses were nearly
$800.00. This mare, now named Shoshone has been taken to the
Shiloh Horse
Rescue in Las Vegas, where she will live out the rest of her natural life with
other horses and without the threat of slaughter.
Our Thanks to Shiloh Horse Rescue and Mrs. Jill Curtis for taking in this
horse and saving her life and to the BLM in Las Vegas for
paying the medical bills and allowing her to be placed in sanctuary at Shiloh.
